Chief Investment Officer
Ben Alexander is Ardea’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and the Chairman of Ardea Investment Management’s Board. Ben has been delivering industry-leading relative value returns to fixed income investors since 1998.
Ben co-founded Ardea, a specialist fixed income investment management firm, in 2008 and has since helped grow the firm to $13bn of client assets under management (as at 31 December 2019).
As CIO, Ben has ultimate responsibility for all of Ardea’s investment activity, including the development and implementation of Ardea’s unique ‘relative value’ investment philosophy and process. Ben also oversees the investment strategies being implemented by individual portfolio managers across all of Ardea’s client portfolios.
Prior to Ardea, Ben headed the fixed income team at Credit Suisse Asset Management in Australia, with responsibility for investment strategies in the Australian and Asian fixed income markets. Ben also held senior regional positions at Credit Suisse encompassing joint ventures in Asia. Ben began his fixed income career with Credit Suisse in 1991.
Ben graduated with Honours in Mathematics from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
